Position Summary Details
A Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining an aesthetically-pleasing and functional outdoor space. Their duties include planting flowers and shrubbery, mowing lawns and communicating with the property owner to determine their vision for the space. The work requires a well-rounded individual with several years of landscaping experience. Our ideal candidate already has prior groundskeeping experience.
Responsibilities
- Mowing lawns
- Trimming hedges
- Watering plants
- Installing sprinkler and irrigation systems
- Preparing outdoor areas for various weather conditions by weatherproofing, covering outdoor furniture with tarps, tying down unsecured items, etc.
- Maintaining gardens and lawns, including planting, fertilizing, weeding, soil conditioning, mulching and applying pesticides
- Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment
- Scheduling specialty services such as ground leveling or patio installation
- Ordering supplies and equipment
- Is able to prioritize projects and has strong problem-solving skills
- Has good research skills and is highly organized, with strong attention to detail
- Is able to work independently
- Is able to speak, read, and write English
Qualifications
- One year of similar experience preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Landscaping and maintenance experience
- Hand and power tools skills
- Horticulture knowledge
