What are the responsibilities and job description for the Garage Porter position at ABM?

- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must have a valid driver's license
- No experience is required and on-the-job training is provided.
- No high school diploma, GED, or college degree required
- Customer service experience
- 1 year of similar work experience
- Clean and maintain buildings/facilities/ parking garages
- Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
- Notify the Manager concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to garage operating systems
- Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc.
- Comply with all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, Clients, and regulatory authorities
- Clean and dust furniture, fixtures, floors, ceilings, walls, machines, light fixtures and equipment
- Move boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment, either manually or by using a golf cart
- Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees
- Change light bulbs
- Gather and empty trash
- Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks
- Wipe and clean elevator cabs
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms
- Pick up trash
- Work weekends as needed
- Pressure washing
- Painting curbs, lines, and any other items that are needed.
- Clean cobwebs off light fixtures
- Dust and clean stairwells
- Count occupied garage spaces daily.
- Service garage gate equipment for minor repairs.
