What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Worker (FT) position at ABM?
Job Purpose:
- The Utility Worker is responsible for performing general cleaning, trash removal, and wood breakdown functions within a specific building.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be able to complete background check and drugscreen.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Essential Functions:
- Picking up bagged trash from pre-determined locations on building floors and, using a utility trash cart, forklift, or truck to transport to a dumpster, compactor, or other designated location.
- Transportation of trash from a building might require the use of a company-provided vehicle.
- Breaking down and disposing of wood pallets, wood crates, and wooden fixtures in proper containers and locations.
- Maintaining clean equipment and wiping down all trash receptacles as needed.
- Executing janitorial duties such as emptying trash cans, cleaning restrooms, and scrubbing floors..
- Following all safety and personnel rules and regulations, including the wearing of all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
