Job Description
The firm is seeking an associate with at least one year of legal experience. NY Bar admission (Required). CT Bar admission a plus. * The attorney will primarily appear for oral argument before judges in New York City and Long Island. * The attorney will draft motions and orders to show cause to be filed in the Courts of New York City and Long Island. * The attorney will draft affidavits, affirmations and memorandum in support of or in opposition to motions for summary judgment and to compel disclosure. * The attorney will engage in written discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, bills of particulars, and document demands. * The attorney will handle cases from inception through trial in the Courts of New York City and Long Island. * The attorney will prepare witnesses in anticipation of trial. * The attorney will communicate with clients throughout the litigation process to keep them informed about the status of their cases and any new developments. * The attorney will arbitrate matters before arbitrators located in New York City, Long Island, Buffalo and Albany. * The attorney will take witness testimony, including examinations under oath. * If admitted to the Connecticut Bar, the attorney may be called upon to litigate firm cases venued in Connecticut as well.
