The IT Security Analyst II will be a part of the forefront of security management in Security Operations. Security Operations is a division that runs a worldwide, networked enterprise, and we use a variety of tools, methods, and techniques to manage and monitor cybersecurity across our systems.
What You Will Do:
- Use, manage and interpret output from security protective devices within the ABS security architecture.
- Collect, integrate, correlate and interpret logs and data streams from protective devices.
- Perform functional analyses of security systems and network segments to ensure complete coverage against threats.
- Perform risk analysis and intelligence information analysis to determine likely threats.
- Tune security architecture components to ensure measures and outputs indicate cyber situational awareness.
- Conduct audits of security architecture components and networked systems.
- Manage security architecture devices and software, including next-generation firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and TCP/IP-based utilities; utilizing judgment and policies.
- Ensure security events are reported in a timely fashion.
- Educate and communicate security requirements, solutions and procedures to peers, user communities and support personnel.
- Provide on-call security log and incident management on rotation.
- Ensures the security services and event data streams are always operational and available, aggregated into collection mechanisms, and interpreted for knowledge of the cybersecurity situational awareness of the ABS IMS networked enterprise.
Education and Experience
- Preferred - Technical bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on information security, incident response, or cyber forensic experience.
- One or more industry-recognized technical or security certifications - CompTIA Security , CompTIA CySa , (ISC) SSCP, Blue Team Level 1, Blue Team Level 2, SANS GCIA, SANS GCIH
- Scripting experience in at least one of the following: Shell, Bash, Perl, or Python.
- Dashboard scripting for security devices is highly desired.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities through the development of project plans and project management.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Data analysis and modeling.
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment with little supervision.
- Must have a strong understanding of Windows Event Logs and Syslog.
- Must have a strong understanding of network traffic and IDS technologies.
- Experience with SIEM technology is a plus.
- Experience with cloud technologies is a plus.
- Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System.
- Splunk Core Certified User, Splunk Core Certified Power User
