Responsibilities of the Diesel Technician
- Perform and/or assist in the performance of general mechanical duties.
- Gain experience by working on the following items with minimal supervision: engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up and general maintenance.
- Work on major components with supervision.
- Perform troubleshooting on minor problems.
- Keep work area and facilities clean.
Requirements of the Diesel Technician
- Must have their own tools Either Diesel Tech school or verifiable experience.
- Minimum 3 years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses preferred.
- A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications preferred.
- Flexible Concrete truck experience preferred
- Welding experience helpful, pay pending experience
Compensation for the Diesel Technician
The starting salary for this position ranges from $25.00 to $40.00 per hour depending on experience.
