Position Purpose/Summary: AC Events, owned and operated by James Beard Award-winning chef Ashley Christensen, is looking for a superstar Events Manager. The Events Manager is accountable for the successful execution of events held at Bridge Club (the AC Restaurants private events space) and our partner venues. This position manages all service team members and creates memorable and seamless hospitality experiences that exceed the expectations of our guests and clients. The Events Manager reports to the Events Director and serves as a professional representative of AC Restaurants.
Job Description
- Execute offsite catering and onsite private events with AC Restaurants commitment to excellent hospitality and guest service. To ensure successful event execution, you will hold the Events team accountable to the guidelines outlined in each Banquet Event Order (BEO). You will also set a positive example for the team by exemplifying proper steps of food and beverage service.
- Inspire and manage the Events service team, fostering a culture of hospitality and community leadership. As the Events Manager, you will be responsible for meeting labor budgets; hiring, training, scheduling, and managing a team that aligns with our values (work hard, play hard, be kind); and working with the team to excel at our common goal of excellence in hospitality. Youll also be expected to mentor and promote promising team members to help us achieve long-term success.
- Manage ordering, inventory, and building maintenance. The Events Manager plays a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of all workers, guests, and company assets. In this position, you will place orders with respect to final headcount projections, manage onsite beverage inventory, enter beverage invoices, and check in product and equipment necessary for events. You will also inspect event facilities to ensure that they conform to client requirements and AC standards, coordinating with building maintenance vendors as needed.
Job Skills and Requirements
- Valid drivers license
- 1 to 3 years of experience in private event coordination, restaurant management, and/or client relationship management.
- Bachelors degree in related field of study preferred but not required.
- Deep understanding and passion for client services and hospitality
- Sharp-as-a-knife communication skills, including a very strong command of the English language, strong writing and presentation capabilities, and comfort in speaking clearly to groups and in one-on-ones.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Must be a self-starter and a problem solver
- Must have excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Must be professional, dependable, and honest
- Must work well as part of a team, and leave ego at the door
- Familiarity with the following tools is preferred but not required: Gmail, Basecamp, Gather, Microsoft Word & Excel, Paycor, Dropbox, Adobe InDesign, videoconferencing software such as GoToMeeting or Skype, etc.
