Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer ('CFO') will assume a strategic role in the overall growth and management of the company. This position will have primary responsibility for managing accounting activities across all business entities. Responsibilities will include maintaining accounts and records in various general and/or cost accounting functions. Developing, implementing and/or maintaining one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, etc. Compiles data, allocates costs, oversees preparation of reports on labor, equipment, depreciation, assembly, or other operating expenses, and analyzes financial information. Oversees preparation of income and balance sheet, profit, and loss, consolidated and other accounting statements. Reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules, and regulations.
Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures. May design, modify, install and/or maintain general accounting systems.
Essential Duties and Functions:
- Monitors and maintains internal controls and accounting policies to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Lead a team to timely completion of monthly and quarterly end processes
- Provide functional area expertise to staff as required.
- Oversee and execute periodic financial reports, including consolidation and intercompany eliminations
- Assist CFO in periodic program and EAC reviews, rate validations, forecasting of labor and overhead rates, and throughput analysis.
- Recommend, develop and perform additional checks and balances/control points relative to proposal review and sign-off; capital expenditures/facilities expansion; strategic investment decisions (i.e., bids and proposals, product demos, R & D investments, risk inventory, etc.)
- Assist with Government Accounting Compliance
- Lead interactions with outside accounting auditors regarding technical GAAP issues o Application of ASC 606, including when to recognize revenue over time vs at a point in time
o Define process requirements for EAC analysis when over time revenue recognition is required
- Direct/Supervise audit support, particularly for US GAAP audits o Ensure compliance with applicable regulations
o ERP System evaluation and migration: o Assist IT in Information system migrations, upgrades and initiatives to achieve common platforms, applications and software tools to provide increased information to group management and /or corporate o Design of key reports
- Execution of Corporate Initiatives across the group
- Perform review and analysis relating to:
o Balance sheet, cash flow, P&L, key performance metrics and significant variances
o Entity / Business Unit Structure
o Due diligence procedures and financial analysis o Restructuring and / or product line acquisition / divestitures
o Joint Venture / Teaming considering for strategic award/proposal targets
o Tax (US, State, Local and German and Italian Statutory)
- Provide functional area expertise to division-level finance staff as required
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, Master's Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting or equivalent work experience

Other Skills and Qualifications:
- Requires broad knowledge of accounting theory and practice in a government contract manufacturing environment, with heavy emphasis in cost accounting.
- Significant experience with over time revenue recognition required.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Must possess excellent communication skills with ability to exchange information and interface effectively with employees and/or customers clearly and concisely.
- Familiarity with ERP systems
- 10 years of manufacturing experience in a US Government contracting environment required
- CPA required
- Management experience is a plus
- Strong analytic skills preferred
