What are the responsibilities and job description for the Desktop Technician position at Acara Solutions?
ACARA Solutions and our client located Moorestown, NJ has a long term contract position. Qualified candidates to work on-site of our customers in an end user support capacity providing exceptional customer service. Our Desktop Technicians will perform a variety of duties in support of end users for IT hardware and/or software. Using knowledge in all aspects of computer design, functionality, system operation, and infrastructure.
Technician will be responsible for installing, configuring, supporting Cisco desk phones across the campus. Tech will handle helpdesk calls and troubleshoot voice/phone issues and will be called upon to assist users with configuring auto dialing, call forwarding, and other voice related issues. Tech may need to travel to nearby buildings (within 2 miles) to provide phone support. Tech may also be asked to support desktop PC, conference room technology, and AV equipment as needed.
Pay: $18/hr DOE
Must be a able to obtain a Secret Clearance
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- 2 years demonstrating professional desktop support history with a variety of platforms / systems / applications and tools to include Operating system expertise - Windows, Unix/Linux, Apple, Network protocol and Image loading protocol
- 2 years LAN/NETWORK connectivity, and basic network connectivity assessment for troubleshooting or setups
- 2 years of experience in connectivity and telecommunications/networking
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
- Evaluates and tests software programs to verify functionality according to specifications and standards
- Demonstrates excellent Customer Service
- Install and configure network devices (i.e. network printers, scanners, plotters, PCs, etc.). Troubleshoot problems with network printing and scanning devices. Perform data termination/ activation in telecommunication closets aka network connect (activation of data drops).
- Repair and replace data connectors on network cables and data drops.
- Assist in the relocation of customer employees on the facility (move PCs and activate data drops in new location).Troubleshoot network issues with PCs and LAN (duplex mismatches, duplicate IPs, corrupt firewall software, proxy configuration issues, etc.)
- Assist with imaging of laptops and PCs for deployment.
