What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Technician position at Acara Solutions?
Responsibilities:
- Assist other Field Technicians in setting up, installing and initiating the operations and servicing of equipment.
- Interpret complex schematics, engineering drawing, wiring diagrams, work orders, maintenance and technical manuals.
- Utilizes various maintenance and repair manuals, test equipment, wiring diagrams, schematics, electronic devices and electrical equipment to test, rework, repair, troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
- Interfaces with customer agency in a professional manner.
- Identify and analyzes equipment malfunctions, replace spares, troubleshoot faults after isolation and repair modules with component parts.
- Uses general purpose test equipment, basic hand tools and special tooling as required.
- Use a variety of electronic measuring devices and test equipment.
- Initializes and determines readiness of electronic devices for correct operations.
- Maintains records of all maintenance activities in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Perform preventative maintenance as directed.
- Build cable assemblies, Printed Circuit Board (PCB's), and modify electrical prototypes and revises documentation as required to correct functional deviations.
- Maintain a sound knowledge of Occupation Health &Safety and take an active part in safety issues as required.
- A lot of our dashboards, indicators, cables and warnings are color coded, must be able to see color.
Required Skills / Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience repairing, troubleshooting, installing electronic panels in ticketing kiosks and similar equipment for high-speed rail servicing.
- Two-year college degree, or equivalent, in electronics, computer science, information systems and/or related technical school, plus a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Must be able to become solder certified.
- Literate in computer usage.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions, prioritize work, complete multiple tasks, work under deadlines, concentrate and apply craft skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical material.
- Must be able to lift 50 Lbs.
- Ability to walk, stand and sit for extended periods, and to climb stairs.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Hours: 8am - 4:30pm | Monday - Friday
The schedule is subject to change after training and could involve weekends, 2nd or 3rd shift.
