What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Laboratory Analyst I position at Access Analytical, Inc.?

Job Summary:

Access Analytical, Inc. currently seeks an analyst in our environmental laboratory in Irmo, SC. The candidate will work in the laboratory analyzing drinking water and wastewater samples from various municipalities, industries, and residential properties. The candidate will work independently and with other analysts and management staff.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Be able to make sound decisions regarding handling / analysis of samples. Must be able to perform all testing with impartiality and integrity in keeping with the company's ethical expectations and reputation.

Be able to work with a high degree of accuracy and detail. The company has built a reputation for providing clients with prompt, accurate laboratory data. This tradition of excellence must be upheld; careless work will not be tolerated.

Be able to work independently once trained.

Be able to follow established SOP's so work can be processed consistently and legally defensible data can be produced.

Be reliable and punctual regarding work days.

Be available for a small amount of weekend work. Typically a few hours every 4th or 5th weekend. Overtime pay applies to hours worked on a weekend.

Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum 2 year associates degree in science related field, bachelors degree in sciences preferred.

Must have good communication skills.

Be proficient with basic computer skills and use of common software.

Must be eligible to be legally employed in the U.S.

Must be willing to submit to pre-employment drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications for this position include:

Previous experience in water / wastewater analysis. Experience with analysis of BOD, Micro, IC Parameters, TOC, Ammonia, etc. particularly desirable.
