What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAREER COACH II position at Access-Supports for Living?
Location: Middletown, NY
Hours: 40/Mon-Fri 9am - 5pm with need to be flexible, some weekends.
Salary: $19.00 p/hr
Job Description: This position provides individuals with one-on-one skills training, planning, and advocacy services for all aspects of the employment process in relation to their job. In this role you will:
- Coordinate efforts with other integral parties as deemed appropriate including families, schools, and other service providers
- Supervise the work abilities and performance of the individual and their work setting
- Assess the strengths and needs of individuals in relation to their performance and job setting
- Develop and implement on-the-job training techniques for the individual at the work site
- Design strategies appropriate to assist the individual to make progress in their placement in terms of productivity, interpersonal skills, quality of work, and behaviors
- Aid individuals in obtaining needed support services such as clinical treatment, transportation, residential Provide follow-up and job retention counseling services
- Monitor the individual’s progress on the job and provide intervention and support to maintain employment
- Work site assistance relationship building and management rather than productivity skills reinforcement
- Assists with job development activities such as visiting potential job sites and attending interviews
- Provides employers with crisis and technical assistance
- Completes necessary and required documentation for all needed aspects of the program
- Provides needed advocacy to personally represent the individual in discussion with benefits retention, landlords, and other areas as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field preferred
Background working with disabled, economically disadvantaged, and/or students
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
