Role overview The Business Intelligence Specialist (Analyst) role requires hands-on expertise supporting key aspects of analytical frameworks required to generate standard and non-obvious insights for our Government Solutions business. This person should be able to architect Descriptive, Inquisitive, Predictive, Prescriptive Insights by integrating, synthesizing, merging, and transforming existing data sources and engines. The Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist Analyst is an analytical thinker who can deliver best-in-class actionable insights to enable better data-driven decisions. A day in the life… Work closely with Government Solutions Business Insights Manager to design business reports that accurately articulate the state of the business from both an operational and financial standpoint. Collaborate with identified dev and technology resources to implement a process ensuring the accuracy of automated reporting. Work with internal Accolade data teams to inform and design dashboard concepts applicable to both internal and external stakeholder requirements. Regularly examine reports, dashboard and sources of truth systems, to identify, trace and resolve errors back at their origin. Identify operational and clinical trends and effectively communicate results and key insights from analysis in both written and verbal form. Responsible to build and deliver reports necessary to meet existing federal contracting and partner obligations. Collaborate with identified software engineer resources to maintain and improve existing Government Enterprise Data warehouse design for both source of truth intention as well as data export accuracy. Support Business Insight Manager with sprint tasks and deliverables associated with reporting infrastructure updates What we are looking for… In addition to being able to carry out the above responsibilities, we're looking for someone comfortable working in a fast paced, ever changing environment who has experience with data transformation/warehousing as well as basic report building as indicated by the following attributes Candidate must be a US Citizen who currently holds or is able to attain a public trust or higher-level clearance. BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering or business discipline equivalent Three to five years of experience as a financial or business analyst Ability to use SQL and Microsoft Excel to develop forecasting concepts Relational Data modeling experience Knowledge of Java/Python: scripting languages; Bash, Shell Script Familiarity with Amazon Web Services, particularly s3, RedShift, EC2, RDS, Dynamo, Qlick Analytical skills that allow for data-driven reporting development Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate data and concepts to coworkers General knowledge of business operations, objectives, strategies, process and information flow concepts Desired Personal Characteristics: Hands-on, skillful communicator that is detail-oriented, methodical & inquisitive A motivated self-starter with a solid level of experience that quickly grasps complex challenges A quick learner with a passion to challenge him/herself outside of the comfort zone Thrives in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is the norm and the bar for quality is extremely high An excellent problem solver with a “can-do” attitude Fantastic collaborator, team player, negotiator and influencer Highly communicative, self-starting individual who maintains a fast fail entrepreneurial spirit We strongly encourage you to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
