****$250- $500 New Hire Bonus***** paid in quarterly installments at 3,6,9, 12 months
Multiple openings, Part Time (20hrs) or Full time (30 hrs) per week, NO WEEKENDS, NO HOLIDAYS, and offers BENEFITS.
As a Day Support Staff (Mental Health) you will have a mental health focus whereby you will assist, teach and mentor participants who have a diagnosis of intellectual, mental health and/or physical disability who desire to learn new job skills. Responsible for providing employment and life skills training to assigned individuals as outlined in the person’s individual plans. Implement person centered goals and objectives related to vocation, social, leisure, and communication skills. Work as a part of a team and represent the company well both internally and externally. You will use the company's 15 passenger van to pick up and drop off individuals.
Essential Responsibilities
- Teach specific technological skills such as Digital Imaging (DI)
- Teach and support in efforts of achieving their personal goals.
- Assist participants while fostering independence
- Ensure quality assurance for assigned jobs.
- Identify daily work flow for all participants
- Daily data collection
- Follow Department of Labor standards and regulations
- Facilitate personal empowerment and various skill building groups.
- Access the community for enjoyment and/or volunteer opportunities.
- Create daily activity schedules: skill building, art, music, volunteerism, community, etc.
Requirements
Credentials/Qualifications:
- All new hires will be required to provide proof of Covid 19 full vaccination or have an approved request for exemption before their start date.
- 1 year experience working with adults with mental illness, mental health disabilities and/or physical disabilities
- High school diploma /GED required.
- Anyone with a Social Work degree will be expected to have a Social Worker License as required by the Minnesota Board of Social Work.
- Ability to teach or coach others using creative techniques while enhancing skillsets and independence.
- Technology knowledge of basic computers skills with ability to learn (e.g. digital imaging software and hardware, Microsoft Office Suite etc.)
- Self-starter and able to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Quality assurance, meets deadlines and ability to facilitate positive customer service
- Problem solving skills
- Organized with an attention to detail and demonstrated experience with documenting daily reports
- Willingness to become CPR/First Aid certification, if not currently certified
- Must pass a Department of Human Services background study
- Must have valid Driver’s License with a good driver’s record.
Work Environment
The Day Support Staff (Mental Health) in this position will typically work Monday-Friday from 7:30am-3:30p.m OR 8:00am-4:00pm (for full time). This is a full-time or part time, Non-Exempt position.
