Job Description

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE

The Assistant Director of Sales will manage, generate and develop accounts across all key feeder markets in Europe and the USA to achieve pre-set targets of average room rate and occupancy set out in the Hotel’s Revenue Plan.

You are organizationally sensitive and you know how to respond adequately and in a timely manner to the needs of the organization and our customers.

In the absence of the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for the day to day operation of the Sales Department, motivating and inspiring the team to achieve or even exceed our targets.

 

You will be accountable for:

Research/develop and identify new business opportunities through face-to-face meetings, sales calls and presentations.

Developing business across all segments from both new and existing accounts within the structure rate levels / volumes agreed with a strong focus on MICE and Groups & Event Sales corporate, Luxury Consortia.

Organise and host hotel site visits for current and prospective accounts with identified potential.

Undertake regular sales visits with Key Accounts to review production against room night target.

Prepare an annual development plan for all accounts allocating the appropriate level of animation by account for MICE and Groups & Event Sales corporate, Luxury Consortia.

To ensure all corporate rate agreements are contracted, up-to date signed by both client and hotel and correctly distributed to head office and loaded within the reservation system at the hotel.

Identify potential corporate accounts with planned actions to secure business

Work closely with the PR department to identify opportunity within the Media and Film industries.

Completion of both national and international RFP’s to specified time scales.

Developing and maintaining a positive and professional relationship with the client, and use current departmental guidelines.

Being fully aware of all facilities and services of Sofitel St James covering all aspects of accommodation, banqueting, meeting and food & beverage.

Achieving of targeted penetration index as per reports from recognized consulting company.

Achieving the required guest satisfaction levels via pre-set departmental SOPs.

Promoting Sofitel London St James within Accor & Sofitel both through the national and international sales & marketing network.

Qualifications

About you:

You have strong communication, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal skills.

Possess a relevant degree in sales, business development or other relevant business field.

Fluent in English and ideally have a knowledge of French (written & verbal);

Vast experience in a Sales position in a managerial role.

Experience in a major international city within the luxury market.

Maintain vigilance regarding possible fraud, theft and potential security risks.

Assertive, professional and positive with a proven ability to develop and lead in a team environment.

Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Working knowledge of Delphi.fdc
