Our Medicaid Billing and Claim Resolution Specialists are responsible for working a caseload of 300 to 350 claims, from the billing process through payment for Medicaid.
Here’s what a day in the life of a Medicaid Billing and Claim Resolution Specialist looks like:
- Work Medicaid claims from billing through payment, including any rejections and/or billing errors that are returned
- Draft appeals to ensure timely resolution and payment of claims, as well as argue verbally over the phone where warranted to get denials overturned and paid
- Perform payment analysis on paid claims to ensure that our client hospitals are reimbursed accurately and according to contract (where applicable), and to ensure payment integrity
- Must work with the client to ensure the mutual success of our respective organizations
- Know how and when to involve key players in an account and effectively use internal employer resources to provide the best client solution.
- Report any reimbursement trends/delays to the supervisor
Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience with hospital Medicaid billing for New York facilities and follow up (claims, billing, coding, reimbursement, etc.), is required
- Experienced with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Appeal Writing experience required
- Ability to work with various EHR software (example: EPIC, Cerner, Meditech, etc.)
