Sales Assistant
The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting our sales team. You will be a key contributor to our sales team's success. You will primarily be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Sales Team and will assist in a variety of sales activities.
This is what you would be doing:
- Handle the processing of all orders, returns, and exchanges, as well as internal and promotional requests with accuracy and timeliness. Research and resolve order discrepancies.
- Train incoming staff on internal sales process.
- Maintain customer names, addresses, purchases, and reactions of prospects solicited into computer database system.
- Special promotion follow-up, tracking of leads, and email list clean-up.
- Develop lists of prospects from city and telephone directories, trade and professional association membership lists, and other public records.
- Research / call prospective customers to qualify leads and explain type of service or product offered.
- Inform current and prospective customers of current promotions and new or upgraded products.
- Follow up with customers to assure satisfaction, respond to queries, solicit further sales, and solve or refer problems.
- Add new products and update existing products on Direct Supply’s STEP website.
- Serve as a backup for receiving, analyzing, expediting, quoting, and generating proposals when Territory Managers are out.
- Assemble and mail new customer packets.
- Communicate product availability, PO status, and product information to customers
- Inform clients of unforeseen delays or problems when needed
- Assist in other clerical duties as needed, such as direct mailing, photocopying, and collating.
- Primary backup to receptionist.
- Other related duties may be assigned.

- High School Graduate / Associates degree preferred.
- Must be detailed oriented.
- Excellent time management, communications, decision-making, and interpersonal Skills are necessary.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
