What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prep Cook position at ACG BBQ LLC?
General Purpose
To provide the most memorable experience, through fun, memories, connections, and of course, the best BBQ ever!
Essential Duties (may include, but not limited to)
- Follow the prep list
- Prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines, standardized recipes, prep & portion procedures
- Properly utilizes weight scale for accurate portion weights
- Memorize and apply all Sonny’s-specialized BOH terminology, plating, menu items, procedures, utensils, abbreviations, and methodologies
- Ability to navigate around equipment
- Maintain portion & waste control using system standards
- Safely utilizes a variety of kitchen utensils including sharp knives
- Properly stores & labels food by adhering to food safety policies & guidelines
- Follow proper cooling, labeling, and rotating procedures of all prepped items
- Maintains clean & sanitized work areas, equipment, & utensils
- Accurately checks levels of food items, restocks when appropriate
- Adhere to healthy & food safety sanitary guidelines
- Perform cleaning duties throughout and at the end of the shift
- Ability to perform other duties as assigned

- Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Can be calm under pressure
- Time management skills
- Able to account for and process cash and credit transactions
- Must be dependable and can maintain a flexible schedule
- Attend and successfully complete any ongoing training or certification programs required by the company, federally, or by the state as it relates to this position.
Required Skills and Experience
- Related experience and/or training in the restaurant industry.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
- Constant ability to push, pull, lift, carry and or move up to 90 pounds.
- Team Members will be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and are required to work with cleaning chemicals. Frequent washing of the hands is required for all positions.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
