The Technician is responsible for fixing a vehicle after it’s been damaged. You will perform quality structural, body, frame and unibody repairs. Also assisting the estimator with accurate estimates and minimizing the need for supplement. Understanding the repair vs replace process is important in the position.
Job Requirements:
- 2 plus years of auto body collision experience
- Replacing and repairing bolt on and weld on panels
- knowledge of structural or replacement repairs, airbag replacement and some mechanical work
- Meet or exceed company’s requirements for tech efficiency, cycle time (to keep vehicles on schedule for on-time delivery) and return rate
- Work and communicate with production manager and estimators on the vehicle repair status, including supplements
- Utilize all required safety equipment, follows proper repair procedures, and adheres to all requirements for hazardous waste disposal
- Keep personal work area organized and clean, returns tools and maintains parts/materials carts in an organized manner
Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:
- ICAR and OEM training preferred
- HS Diploma or GED, Auto Body Vo-Tech certification strongly preferred
- History of working independently and in a team environment
- Highly organized, able to handle multiple concurrent assignments
- Must provide own tools (in working order)
- Complies with manufacturer and dealer safety guidelines and standards
- Ability to effectively communicate with others
- Ability to read and understand basic instructions, written estimates, and work orders
- Multi-tasking; adapt easily to fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stoop, bend, squat, kneel and pull
- Extended periods of kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping to complete or inspect repairs
- Carry and lift heavy objects (up to 80lbs)
- Manual dexterity and eye/hand coordination to operate equipment
- Standing, sitting, and walking
- Performing repetitive motions
