What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Technician - Large Equipment position at Acme Tools?
Who We're Looking For:

If so, do your best work with Acme Equipment - we are currently hiring for both experienced and entry-level Service Technicians!
What You’ll Take Ownership Of:
- Troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, hydraulic systems, as well as Gas and Diesel Engines
- Performing service calls on the road and communicate with customers about the status and location of repairs needed
- Cleaning up tools and messes after each project, keeping indoor and outdoor workstations clean and clear from obstructions, as well as maintaining clean and working service trucks
- Maintaining a safe and secure work environment by adhering to safety standards, striving to improve safety standards, and reporting any suspicious activity
- Clearly communicating with the Service Supervisor, as well as the Parts department to ensure parts are ordered and received in a timely manner
- Accurate record keeping including parts ordered and hours worked on equipment
- Performing related tasks as assigned
Equipment most commonly worked on by Service Technicians include boom lifts, scissor lifts, industrial forklifts, variable reach forklifts, tractors, skid steers, light towers, air compressors, generators, excavators, and mowers.
This individual must be willing to cross train in other repair areas as well, as they may be asked to work on anything that we sell at Acme Tools.
Need-To-Haves:
- Associate degree or related experience in a mechanical field
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift 75 lbs., stand/walk/sit for up to 10 hours; occasionally push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb and descend stairs safely
- Mechanical aptitude
- Willingness to work outside in all seasons
Skills and Experience Preferred:
- Previous experience working with DC Voltage controls, Hydraulics, Gas and Diesel Engines
- Excellent Computer & Customer Service Skills
- Experience working on large equipment
