**Overview**
Acosta Retail Merchandisersprovides retail sales merchandising coverage and coverage of special projects for an assigned territory. They are responsible for representing ACOSTA and our principals through store coverage and executing objectives as set forth by their Manager to achieve superior in-store results in an assigned territory.
**Responsibilities**
Their responsibilities can include:
1. Conducting store visits: Merchandisers regularly visit stores to check product displays and ensure adequate stock levels. They also review sales data to identify new sales opportunities and communicate these opportunities to their supervisor.
2. Conducting store resets: Merchandisers can work with a team to complete resets to store planograms.
3. Developing sales plans: Based on sales data, the Acosta Retail Sales Merchandiser develops a plan to increase sales, which includes recommendations for product placement, pricing, promotions, and other strategies.
4. Building relationships with customers: Merchandisers work closely with store employees and managers to build relationships and ensure that the store can meet customer needs. They also work to build relationships with customers to identify their needs, understand their interests, and tailor sales strategies to meet those needs.
5. Creating attractive displays: Merchandisers collaborate with store employees to create attractive displays that feature the products they are promoting. They also ensure that displays are stocked and properly maintained.
6. Tracking sales: Merchandisers use sales data to track their progress in implementing sales plans and to make adjustments if sales are not meeting the desired targets.
**Qualifications**
1. Education: A high school diploma/GED is preferred, but not always required.
2. Experience: Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not required.
3. Communication Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with store employees, customers, and supervisors is critical for success as an Acosta Retail Sales Merchandiser.
4. Physical Demands: The job requires frequent standing, bending, and lifting to move products and create displays.
5. Availability: Retail establishments operate on weekdays, weekends, and evenings, so flexibility in scheduling is necessary.
