Responsible for supporting and contributing to the selling efforts of the Education Sales team
leading to growth and increased sales volume in a key vertical market. The Education Account
Manager works with clients to create forward-thinking spaces that support 21st century learning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Demonstrates an expertise in the education design space and helps differentiate our team
from the competition.
• Develops and maintains trusted relationships with key contacts and accounts; Serves as the
primary point of contact for specific clients.
• Works closely with clients through each stage of the process to manage expectations and
ensure customer satisfaction.
• Identifies customer requirements and ensures proposed solutions meet or exceed them.
• Generates and edits quotes with detailed pricing/specifications in Hedberg system.
• Develops thought-starters and proposals that meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Clearly defines deliverables/timelines and delegates responsibility.
• Leads coordination of PMs, CCs & Designer through project schedule, counts, and project
completion.
• Follows up to ensure projects are completed on time and to quality expectations.
• Learns Steelcase’s education research concepts and builds them into selling strategies.
• Seeks out client and industry information to provide forward-thinking solutions to clients.
• Builds strong professional networks that lead to future sales opportunities.
• Provides timely/accurate sales forecasts utilizing the CRM system.
- • Achieves/exceeds volume and margin objectives as defined by Sales Leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in interior design, business administration, marketing or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience working with end users in the education sales/design market: outside
sales, sales support and/or architecture & design.
• Exceptional computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment while managing several tasks at once.
• Demonstrated high personal performance standards, the desire and ability to continuously
learn, and a results-oriented work style.
• A high level of personal integrity and business ethics.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in the contract furniture industry.
• Strong working knowledge of Steelcase solutions for education/learning spaces.
