The Role

We are currently searching for a Senior Decision Science Analyst.  As a Senior Decision Science Analyst, you will drive significant impact with your abilities to execute end-to-end quantitative research and drive strategic insights. Working closely with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders, you will play a critical role on the dynamic and growing Strategy & Analytics team by scaling its emergent Decision Science function.

Key Components:

  •  Enable data-driven marketplace strategies that drive a sustainable competitive advantage for the organization.
  • Leverage quantitative research methods to identify the cognitive and social drivers of customer preferences and decision-making.
  • Conduct original primary research (including questionnaire development, sample collection, and data analysis) and build population- and individual-level market intelligence.
  • Develop systematic and reproducible data pipelines to ensure analytic rigor while also enabling process efficiencies.
  • Enrich survey responses with disparate datasets (including external research, 1st party data, 3rd party data, and qualitative interviews) to produce novel, highly-granular analytic views.
  • Apply deep subject-matter knowledge to complex analytic outputs and provide expert interpretation on research outcomes.
  • Synthesize highly technical concepts and deliver compelling, intuitive reports that drive practical business recommendations.
  • Communicate complex data concepts and insights effectively and succinctly to drive practical business recommendations.
  • Actively collaborate with diverse, cross-functional teams and facilitate strategic alignment, knowledge sharing, and process improvement.
  • Be forward-thinking and proactively take on new challenges with demonstrated curiosity to grow, learn, and improve.

 

You may be a fit for this role if you are:

  • Data-driven in your perspective. You apply a researcher’s point-of-view to strategic business questions and address them in a rigorous, empirical manner.
  • An expert quantitative researcher. Deep experience analyzing survey data, population statistics, market intelligence, or economic data; experience in product analytics a bonus.
  • Analytical. You are adept at decomposing and solving real world business problems. You are comfortable with data and ambiguity, and able to independently delve into the details.
  • Application-focused. Demonstrated ability to translate research outcomes into actionable insights and deliver to stakeholders.
  • Strong data visualization competency and experience reporting quantitative outputs for non-technical audiences.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative social science (e.g., Economics), Statistics, or similar field; graduate degree preferred.
  • Two to four years of relevant professional experience – at a market research agency, data analytics firm, and/or operating experience at a high-growth SaaS business highly preferred.
  • Technical skills: Highly proficient in SQL, Python, or R (2 plus years of experience) and expert in Microsoft Excel. Experience designing and fielding surveys in Qualtrics or a similar survey platform preferred. Familiarity with Tableau or a similar dashboarding tool a bonus.
  • Ability to ETL disparate data sources (e.g., 1st and 3rd party metrics) preferred.
  • Ability to build rudimentary statistical models (e.g., classification) a bonus.
