Incoming Inspection & Calibration Specialist needed for a direct-hire opportunity!
This position will be responsible for performing inspection of incoming purchased parts to assure conformance to specifications including dimensional measurements; component analysis; functional testing; and evaluation under IPC610 and IPC620 standards. In addition, this position will review suitability and continued viability of certain vendors and manufacturers through remote and on-site audits of supply chain.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize skills as an electronic technician to accurately perform diversified electrical, mechanical, physical, and visual inspections of incoming purchased parts including dimensional measurements, component analysis, functional testing and checking of incoming materials against pre-established quality specifications.
- Other related inspections include review of accompanying documents such as certificates and/or technical reports.
- Document inspection results and enter data into the ERP system and/or other computer collection systems.
- Interprets material specifications, blueprints, inspection procedures, and sampling plans.
- Detects and reports defective materials and unusual conditions.
- Maintains work area and equipment in clean, safe and orderly condition adhering to Company quality and safety standards.
- Audits batch documentation for sterility releases.
- Timely, effective communication with other Company departments regarding product dispositions and potential problems.
- Assists as necessary in the Receiving of materials and products.
- Review suitability and continued viability of certain vendors and manufacturers through remote and onsite audits of supply chain
- Responsible for maintaining calibration (tracking, sending and receiving) for production equipment at our Ithaca site as well as our worldwide repair and service Divisions.
- Perform other work-related duties as requested, directed or assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Associates degree in electronics, electrical manufacturing, or equivalent
- IPC610 and IPC620 certified a plus
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Electronics Technician in a manufacturing, R&D or engineering setting
- ASQ certified desired
- Familiarity with Six Sigma, Medical Device Manufacturing, Lean or statistics
