We are seeking a highly motivated Acquisition Specialist (R&D) to join our team. The Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for leading the mission-essential Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance team in support of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Research Directorate.

This position is with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s (NGA) NGA Research Directorate supports the NSG and National Security Strategy by solving hard defense and intelligence problems for the IC and DoD. NGA Research is organized into three technical offices: Foundational GEOINT; Advanced Phenomenologies; and Analytic Technologies. NGA Research delivers capabilities within these technical offices through pods, functionally organized to address specific technology needs and products. The NGA Research Mission Support Office supports the pods and technical offices. It includes Strategic Partnerships and Communications (SPC); Technology Transition, Transfer, and Protection (T3P); Program Planning and Execution (PPE); and the Research Lab Environment (RLE) teams. The Acquisition Specialist must provide knowledge and experience of DoD acquisition, including the Planning, Programming, and Budget Execution (PPBE) and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) processes. Understanding and experience in pre-Award activities including the development of Acquisition documentation (Special Notices, RFIs, RFPs, BAA solicitations, market research, IGCEs, SOWs, SOOs, PWSs). Experience in source selection/scientific review evaluation process for R&D.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to provide Pre-Award Acquisition Support: Provide advice recommendations, and document preparation support to multiple disciplined offices in all areas of the acquisition pre-award phase.
- Experience delivering Acquisition pre-award support includes: SOWs & SOOs, Acquisition Strategy Support, Cost Estimates, Market Research & Market Surveys, Quality Assurance Plans, RFPs/RFQs, Source Selection, and other miscellaneous pre-award documentation.
- Proven experience with assist Award/Selection Support: Provide support the Contracting Officers and various technical offices in all types of source selections including formal, informal, and vendor screening processes. Sources selection/award support includes: Contract Award Documents and Contract Award Acquisition Support
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or in business, management, systems management, public administration
- DAWIA Level III or Project Management Professional Certification
Education Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business, management, systems management, public administration.

- 10 years w/ Bachelor's degree
- 8 years w/ Master's degree
