What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3rd Shift Specimen Processor position at Actalent?
Description:
Specimen Processor will be supporting lab functions in a hospital lab setting.
- Assist in maintaining supplies, helping with inventory, and placing orders
- Perform patient check-in while maintaining excellent customer service
- Manage client test results according to established procedures
- Utilize the electronic health record (EHR), laboratory information system (LIS), Client software (web portal), and the email system to efficiently complete daily tasks
- Utilizes the laboratory information system (LIS) to monitor the appropriate test pending logs and communicate to the technical staff to ensure testing is not delayed
- Perform all specimen processing functions to receive and process specimens according to laboratory protocol
- Perform urine collections for urine drug screens and complete proper paperwork
- Operate laboratory equipment for which they have received applicable training and supervisor approval to perform
Schedule:
Night Shift Mon-Fri: 11pm - 7:30am and every other weekend (Will have 2 days off during the week if scheduled on the weekend)
Qualifications:
-High School diploma required
-6 months lab experience
-Ability to read and follow SOP
