What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analytical Chemist position at Actalent?
Description:
As a Chemist level 1, you will be responsible for assisting and carrying out chemical analysis and designed experimental activities related to environmental testing. You will be responsible and assisting in validating various assays on a GCMS, Gas Analyzer, GCFID, and various other instrumentation.
- Perform multi-step procedures
- Acquire and interpret analytical data from GC, HPLC, and wet chemistry methods
- Summarize results, aid in writing technical reports and procedures, and present information to the technical team
- Work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment
- Reinforce safe work practices
- Receive initial and annual training; handle and dispose of hazardous wastes
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Chemistry
- Solid understanding of chemical synthesis
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Relevant industrial experience and/or experience in analytical chemistry
- Operating, maintaining and method development on a GCMS is requirement.
- Experience with Thermo Chromeleon software would be useful
- Experience with gas analyzer or gcfid is another bonus
