What are the responsibilities and job description for the Animal Care Technician position at Actalent?
Description:
- Being able to work in a regulated environment that provides human care for lab animals supporting education and research labs.
- Ensure proper documentation and record keeping in accordance with regulatory and departmental requirements.
- Perform daily animal observations and identify abnormalities.
- Assist in animal physical examinations, weight checks, technical procedures, post/pre-operative treatment observations.
- Clean and sanitize large animal pens, equipment, and rooms.
- Operate lab equipment and instrumentation.
- Animal husbandry.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Animal Science, Biology, Zoology or similar field
- Animal care experience preferred.
- Adherence to good documentation practices.
- Ability to execute to a scientific protocol.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and math skills.
- Ability to consistently follow directions and work under pressure.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- ALAT, LAT, or LATG cert considered, but not required
- Must be a proficiency user of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
