What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Technician position at Actalent?
We are hiring an Automotive technician for an automotive paint supplier in Windsor, ON!
Description:
- Ensure automotive coatings meet customer satisfaction by providing service within the facility on a wide range of product application techniques, new coatings and colors.
- Assist in identifying, analyzing and solving product quality problems
- Collect / input necessary data and generate requested reports
- Determine and evaluate sources of process and application variation which affect product quality to help solve problems using engineered studies and solutions
- Review product performances against customer requirements and suggest changes to improve conformance to requirements
- Perform process walks that consist of validating processes using check sheets to document findings, recognize operating ranges and react to out of spec parameters
- Mixroom inventory accounting/shipment validation/viscosity checks/ inspect pressures, flow and agitation
- Dirt counts for each process / documentation / charting
- Data collection – PELT (filmbuild measurements), color data and appearance data collections / analysis / reaction
Skills & Qualifications:
- Prior experience / exposure to paint systems
- Experience troubleshooting machinery and equipment
- Experience with six sigma methodologies and tools
- Previous quality or validation technician/engineering experience
- Experience with the automotive industry
- Knowledge of/working experience within chemistry
- Educational background in mechanical technician/engineering work
