Description:
The Buyer / Planner role will be a customer-centric employee that will focus their regular activities in planning, purchasing, and monitoring inventory for current products along with new product launches. They will manage daily order scheduling, collaborate with production, finance/accounting, and engineering departments to meet company objectives. They will also perform analysis of cost savings, monitor price changes, manage supplier relationships, negotiate, and establish new suppliers as needed. They will use internal data via our ERP system and other applicable sources to improve overall factory performance through cost various reduction strategies.

They will manage daily order scheduling, collaborate with production, finance/accounting, and engineering departments to meet company objectives. They will also perform analysis of cost savings, monitor price changes, manage supplier relationships, negotiate, and establish new suppliers as needed. They will use internal data via our ERP system and other applicable sources to improve overall factory performance through cost various reduction strategies.
- Production Planning & Scheduling
- Purchasing material and sales order management
- Develop and manage parts/purchasing strategies via ERP system
- Managing supplier relations and pricing
- Support of cost savings activities for the assigned product line
- Material disposition via the ECO/ECI process
- Coordinate inbound freight with supplier and usage of applicable transportation management systems
- Bachelor's degree with 3–5 years’ experience in an operations planning/purchasing environment or equivalent total years’ experience.
- CPIM Certification desired
- Must be able to work within a team atmosphere and contribute by applying their acquired functional knowledge to daily business demands
- Must be proficient in Excel and all Microsoft office products
- Working knowledge of JD Edwards preferred
- Eager to learn and multi-task in a high volume, time sensitive environment
