Description:
Job functions include operating pilot scale equipment to fill customer samples and product development needs. In addition, supply support to the laboratory processes as required. Mechanical skills are required and knowledge in working with hazardous materials is desired. The successful candidate should be highly motivated to acquire new skills and capable of multitasking. Essential job functions are: - Ensures adequate supply of materials and equipment. Provides input to goals. Results of decisions are typically evident over the course of one month to the end of the project. - Mixing and batching of chemicals - Complete understanding of area of expertise. Capable of quick learning in other product lines. - Ability to enter data within Excel and/or Word and track data appropriately - Operate equipment for pilot-scale trials of developmental products. - Conduct tasks in a laboratory and pilot plant setting. - Conduct basic lab tests for quality control (ph testing, filtration) - Report observations and results to supervisor. Able to take detailed information for sample preparation in lab notebook. - Contribute to the overall site safety through established safety procedures, programs, and policies. - Must be able to work a flex schedule as needed and able to manage well within a changing environment. - Able to keep detailed inventory of project work. - Must be able to operate a forklift. - Must be able to lift 50 lbs. - Must be able to climb ladders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Education/Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in manufacturing (chemical preferred) is desired. Associates degree in chemical technology desired. Experience with the use of hazardous chemicals. Technical Knowledge/Skills Knowledge in general chemical practices. Ability in following instructions, planning and executing product demonstrations with accuracy, and making valuable observations. Specific skills are: - Experience with mixing and batching of materials (chemical preferred) - Ability to follow batch records and SOPs - Knowledge in general manufacturing (chemical preferred) practice required - Ability to follow written procedures and improve upon existing procedures required. - Ability to conduct experiments with high accuracy and attention to detail required - Ability to use Excel and Word desired - Knowledge in handling hazardous materials desired. - Strong mechanical skills required. - Ability to operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods (SOPs/JSAs). - Ability to conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety, quality, and environmental compliance. - Qualified fork truck operator
