Equivalent Experience
Seeking highly skilled Analytical Chemists to spearhead projects within our mid-size research facility in bio-sustainable fuels.
Summary:
Lab environment - Working in the Analysis lab where they have 2 full time staff, 1 part time intern and 1 Research Scientist. This lab tests the sugar water and fuel. Variety of wet chemistry techniques like pipettes and balances along with analytical instrumentation like LC, GC, TOC, FTIR, and spectroscopy. Will also be doing sample prep. Team does a great job cross training. Will eventually be responsible for calibrations and fixing instrumentation.
We are replacing crude oil. We create the chemicals and fuels from naturally occurring, renewable resources. Using patented catalytic chemistry, We convert soluble biomass-derived sugars into products molecularly identical to those made with petroleum, including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and chemicals used for plastics and fibers.
Job Responsibilities:
Will be running routine assays following SOPs/work instructions
Prep sample, run TOC (Total Organic Carbon) and then post data
Will gain ownership of the TOC
After 3-6 months, will prep samples for running HPLC, GC and ICP and then will eventually run those instruments
Will run FTIR in the future
Run basic wet chemistry techniques like pipettes and balances
Instrument maintenance, instrument repairs and calibrations (will get into later on)
Method development
Requirements:
BS Chemistry or Biochemistry
1 years of lab experience running FTIR or molecular spectroscopy
1 years' experience working with analytical instrumentation like HPLC and GC
