What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemistry Lead position at Actalent?
Description:
- The Analyst Chemist/Trainer (Wet Chemistry) will be responsible for performing analyses of client samples in the Wet Chemistry laboratory using a variety of analytical techniques and procedures.
- You will have the opportunity to partner with knowledgeable laboratory professionals to prepare, test, and analyze different types of environmental compliance samples.
- Collect, prepare and analyze samples within the laboratory environment
- Prepare lab for daily operations, including stocking materials, evaluating equipment, and performing safety and cleaning procedure.
- Support the testing process by preparing samples for analysis.
- Ensure appropriate testing procedures are conducted in compliance with QA and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) requirements
- Schedule, prepare, and analyze samples based on method requirements within allotted time frame
- Perform analytical testing using multiple different wet chemistry techniques: titration, gravimetric, colorimetric and spectrometry, in addition to the potential use of analytical instrumentation
- Review, complete, and process logs and additional documentation as required
- Assist with the initial and ongoing training of new, entry-level analysts
Skills & Qualifications:
- Associates/Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field preferred
- Significant experience working in a laboratory environment required (Experience in an environmental laboratory is preferred.)
