Description:
Engineer-in-Training (EIT-1)
This position requires registration as EIT Certification (FE). Uses prescribed methods, standard techniques and practices to perform engineering assignments under the guidance of experienced engineers. Typically possesses 0 – 2 years’ experience.
An Engineer-in-Training (1) shall work under more experienced staff to:
Assist with small design tasks
Complete data collection, data entry and other basic traffic study procedures
Complete CADD changes/updates (red-lines) as assigned
Assist in Calculating construction quantities and developing spreadsheets
Assist in traffic model setup and analysis
Perform self-review (QA/QC) of all work prior to delivery to staff.
Maintain appropriate level of communication with staff.
Maintain a teachable attitude and have a desire to learn new skills and abilities.
Attend training as needed to learn new software/methodology
Engineer-in-Training (EIT-2)
This position requires registration as EIT Certification (FE). Uses prescribed methods, standard techniques and practices to perform engineering assignments under the guidance of experienced engineers. Typically possesses 2 – 4 years’ experience.
An Engineer-in-Training (2) shall work under more experienced staff to:
Complete small design tasks
Complete data collection, data entry and other basic traffic study procedures
Complete CADD changes/updates (red-lines) as assigned
Calculate construction quantities and develop spreadsheets
Complete traffic model setup and analysis
Develop design details and plan sheets to be incorporated into the overall project.
Maintain appropriate level of communication with staff.
Perform self-review (QA/QC) of all work prior to delivery to staff.
Maintain a teachable attitude and have a desire to learn new skills and abilities.
Attend training as needed to learn new software/methodology
