Description:
The construction Manager will be supporting a water treatment plant upgrade and expansion. $130 million project in Spotsylvania VA at Motts Run Water Treatment Plant. Electrical upgrades, piping, and SCADA upgrades will be taking place. This CM will be the face of our client on site at the plant. Managing the general contractors on site, change process management, inspection of site work. Client facing position. The expansion will double the capacity of the water treatment plant’s current 12 million gallons per day. The project also will assess the plant’s “aging facilities,” with improvements planned for “power and water supply reliability, physical security, and data security.”
High responsibility position with crew oversight responsibilities. They will be inspecting General contractor's work and ensuring the project is completed on time and up to client standards. They need to be capable of client facing duties and managing general contractors.
Our client is a privately owned engineering and construction firm that offers full services—consulting, engineering, construction and operations—across the project life cycle in water, environment, transportation, energy and facilities. They have been around for over 75 years and have a strong presence within the wet utilities space. Our client operates throughout the US and does work internationally as well.
Job Description
- Plans, directs and coordinates construction projects, ranging from routine and moderately complex projects to large, multiple-contract projects.
- Scope of human resources management includes both the construction representative and construction coordinator job families.
- Coordinates and controls all construction management activities, including CPM, scheduling and claims administration.
- Provides internal consultation to construction representatives in project offices and acts as a technical resource to other function groups within the division.
- Interprets plans and specifications for clients, contractors and the firm's field personnel.
- Develops new opportunities for business through proposal preparation and general contact with current and potential clients.
- Assists in administration and operation of the construction services group, as required.
- Reviews government regulations in order to provide consultation services that reflect an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of legal requirements.
- Provides expert witness service in claims administration cases.
- Performs other duties as required. Supervises and coordinates all shop drawing activities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Need expert level "Inside the fence" water treatment plant experience
Need someone comfortable leading a crew of inspectors and manging clients expectations whilst managing the genral contractors on site doing the work.
- Highschool degree and 17 years of experience OR Highschool degree and 16 years of experience with a CCM or PMP OR Bachelor’s degree and 12 years OR Bachelor’s degree and 10 years with a PE.
- Experience processing RFIs, Changer Orders and Submittals
- Maintain and manage project schedules
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
