Description:
Currently hiring Mechanical Engineer for Fluid Systems team within Industrial Power Systems Department – responsible for 9-18 liter diesel engines. This position will be responsible for lube and oil systems, cooling systems, fuel systems (high and low pressure) on engines. Will be modeling in CREO, creating prints, detailing, etc. Will do some simulation work as well, primarily through a simulation team but this role will do some as well. This role will also be interfacing with suppliers to further designs to meet company requirements. Will be translating those requirements into designs, lead supplier meetings, and drive supplier action to meet required specs. This team provides parts to internal engine product groups, will interface with those teams as well. This role will have support from Team Leads but will also require a good amount of independent work. 50% Design, 30% Supplier/internal interaction, 20% simulation. Team of 14, 10 in the US and 4 in India. 2 Team Leads – Fuel Systems and Lube/Cooling.
Summary:
The main function of a mechanical engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes. A typical mechanical engineer has the ability to make engineering drawings, and read and interpret blueprints.
Job Responsibilities:
* Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.
* Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
* Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew.
* Oversee installation, operation, maintenance and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
* Implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.

Education/Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
* 3-5 years experience required.
