Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer to work on cost reduction projects for legacy products. This role involves close collaboration with suppliers and internal design teams to implement changes to product designs and assist with troubleshooting product and integration issues. Excellent communication skills are essential as you will work cross-functionally with production and quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate electrical systems into products using knowledge of catalog components and innovative design solutions to deliver best-in-class products.
• Research and evaluate new technology in electric motors and drives to achieve incremental product improvements in cost, performance, and features.
• Design, develop, and maintain electrical systems and components to required specifications, focusing on safety, reliability, quality, cost, and sustainability.
• Create wiring schematics, electrical harnesses, related mechanical components, and bills of material.
• Design, size, and integrate a starting device system in a multiple motor application.
• Size and integrate variable speed drives based on application, current, and dimensional requirements.
• Size and integrate overload and short circuit current protection based on current, NEC, CE, NEC, and UL requirements.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• 1-3 years of Electrical Engineering experience
• Experience completing design reviews for cost reduction projects
• Experience with electric motor controls, transformers, or drives
• Proficiency in hardware design, cost reduction, cost analysis, troubleshooting, design review, and risk assessment
• Knowledge of electrical design, NX, schematics, and electric motors

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience designing within NX
• Experience conducting risk assessments

Work Environment

You will be part of a team of 10 engineers working cross-functionally with production, quality, and suppliers. The facility, located in Michigan City, has recently undergone office upgrades and is home to our engineering team.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00
