Description:
Vision and Connectivity Systems (VCS) team is looking for a mid-level Embedded Software Engineer who will plan, develop, design and execute embedded software projects including architecture analysis and definition.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Create, monitor and approve software artifacts
• Interface with external customers and certification authorities.
• Interface with internal cross-functional and cross-site team members
• Develop and execute software standard work
• Work in small to large software teams that include external source team members
• Requirements generation, design and architecture development, integration, verification, validation, and document for existing and new products
• Execution of software development process in accordance with the specified design assurance level
• Software and hardware system integration tasks on embedded target hardware
• Model Based Design techniques used in the development life cycle process for Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) / Computer Vision (CV) product development
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) ) and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
• Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR
• In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
• Engineering experience developing embedded software in a regulated industry
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally (5%)
• Proficient in C Programming Language and Python
Preferred Qualifications:
• Linux or Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
• Experience and/or academic knowledge in AI Machine Learning/Computer Vision (CV)
• Embedded software development experience with ARM processor architectures
• Linux Kernel and open source software
• Automated software test frameworks e.g. Robot Framework
• Experience with cybersecurity software architecture and design
• Agile, or Scaled Agile Framework (SaFE) experience
