What are the responsibilities and job description for the Formulation Chemist position at Actalent?
The successful candidate will act as a formulation resource within generic pharmaceutical business, which develops and manufactures a number of drug substances and drug products such as oral solid, liquid, and suspension products. Responsibilities will focus on supporting early formulation development activities.
Description:
BS Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, any sciences related field
- Support of the formulation development of solid oral pharmaceuticals including immediate and sustained or modified release tablets and capsules.
- Characterize the dosage products as per internal test methods.
- Document results in laboratory notebooks in compliance with cGMP.
- Handle and track controlled substances.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Accomplishes assigned tasks typically following direction from others as to the specific approach or technique. Some interpretation is required to help develop alternatives and solutions for problems.
- Follows appropriate timelines; participates in activities in functional area; keeps own functional activities on schedule.
- Demonstrates knowledge in scientific techniques, theory, troubleshooting, etc.
- Draft technical reports as appropriate.
- Present progress in group and project team meetings.

Proficient in basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills
Highly motivated with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
