What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graduate Architect position at Actalent?
Description:
This company has an active opening to hire an experienced Architect. This individual will be responsible for managing the production of designs/plans on commercial architectural projects ranging from $.5 million to $20 million in construction cost for this firm. They will work with the rest of the Architecture team in the Indianapolis office. This firm has a primary focus on veterinary hospitals, clinics and labs across the nation; along with, commercial renovation and ground-up design for industrial, hospitality, medical, therapy, religious, fitness and senior living projects. For this firm, they have about 50% of project as interior remodels, 20% are new construction, and the rest are building additions and other various projects.
The Architecture and Interior Design teams are split into 5 teams of 4 people (2 Architects and 2 Interior designers). This individual will be specifically assigned onto a team with another experienced Architect and 2 Interior Designers. They will work with the rest of the team to create Architectural designs in Revit. This person will be joining a team to work with a more senior Architect and Interior Designer. They will be more focused on the production level work but will also have the opportunity to participate in and learn more project management duties as they grow.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Production of Architectural design, construction documents and specifications
- Prepares design presentation documentation, design process documentation, and working drawings.
- Partner with Architects, Project Managers and Interior Designers to present design modifications or changes.
- Participates in all design and construction phases of projects.
- Identifies, communicates, and improves design processes with other team members.
- Minimize rework by recommend alterations to design to improve quality.
- Participates in project meetings and updates
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Must-Haves:
- Bachelors (professional degree) or Masters in Architecture
- 6 months of experience in architectural field- specifically general commercial projects
- Ability to Design in Revit
- Understanding of "constructability"
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience specifically within the medical field (relates to Veterinary work)
- Strong intangibles can help with candidates who are lighter in experience
Disqualifiers:
- No Revit experience
