HYBRID Calibration/Process Engineer - Leesburg, VA
Description:
We are seeking a Calibration/Process Engineer to support one of our largest defense manufacturing clients in Northern VA. This individual will be responsible for calibrating UV equipment and be involved in process engineering to ensure the manufacturing equipment is running as close to 100% efficiency as possible. On average, this team will be responsible for the calibration of over 400 machines yearly.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop, document and maintain calibration procedures and processes for a line of industrial UV instruments (radiometers and sensors)
- Analysis of procedures to ensure accuracy and repeatability
- Develop, validate and maintain calibration fixtures for new and existing products.
- Review and approve filter acceptance criteria and procedures
- Review performance of UV calibration masters and transfer standards to ensure accuracy and repeatability of measurements.
- Provide second line customer and factory support for questions or problems that may arise with the various UV Measurement products.
- Participate in new product development activities and assist in development of product documentation.
- Work with the IT group to improve and maintain the calibration database.
- Job may require occasional travel to customers or trade shows for sales and marketing support.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience
-1 year experience in a manufacturing environment being involved in machine calibration, metrology, and/or process engineering
Preferred Experience:
- Understanding of electronics and/or optics.
- Understanding of ISO 9001:2008 quality procedures.
- NIST traceable calibrations and/or procedures for calibration labs (traceability, uncertainties).
- Analysis and data collection techniques.
- Operating optical laboratory equipment such as Spectrophotometers, Spectral Radiometers and Spectro-fluorophotometers.
