What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Assistant position at Actalent?
Actalent Scientific is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Lab Assistant role. This will be a 2nd shift Monday-Thursday position (10 hour shifts).
Description:
Seeking a candidate to work in the lab running tests on the different liquor batches. Food Science interest preferred.
- Will run the sample through the density meter, perform titrations and check specific gravity using pH meter.
- They'll check the turbidity, check the color using a spectrophotometer, check the alcohol concentration using distillations, and input everything using LIMS software.
- They will also go into the plant and do inspections on the bottling lines.
- They'll check the fill height of the bottles, and check to make sure labels are correct. They will eventually run GC (gas chromatography) as well.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associates Degree or a HS Diploma and a couple years of laboratory experience.
- Comfortable working weekends and overtime on occasional basis.
- Need to be a team player, eager to learn, and willing to work in a lab environment.
