What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at Actalent?
Description:
Start off working on aseptic technique and basic lab techniques. Plating, pipetting, pouring agar plates, weighing samples.
Then will transfer to pathogen lab to do E.coli, listeria, salmonella testing.
Will get trained on rapid detection equipment later on.
Need high attention to detail to make sure they are not cross contaminating. Need to be cautious with the work. Work in biosafety cabinets as well.
Project based work- plan out testing and it's scheduled out.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
High school diploma but Bachelors degree in Life Sciences is preferred
Any laboratory experience is a plus!
Not having lab experience has hurt some former consultants
Strong work experience (not jumpy work history) within the bakery/food service industry is ideal
High attention to detail
Okay working in a repetitive work environment
Ability to catch on to new procedures and processes quickly
