What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Builder position at Actalent?
Description:
Position will be responsible for the design and build of high-speed automated packaging equipment. They currently have a need for an Automation Technician I or II whose duties will include supporting Engineering through detailed drafting and documentation.
The position is 50% mechanical, 50% electrical, but if someone’s experience is more geared towards electrical they’ll have them work on that stuff more. Essentially they are responsible for building the machine, which is a custom automated packaging machines.
They’ll be doing different mechanical assembly – need to have their own tools that they’ll bring with them. Also on the electrical side it’s electrical/panel wiring and assembly, power-ups, if they can do any PLC troubleshooting that’s nice to have. Also on the mechanical front if they have any fabrication/machining experience that is a bonus.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Associated degree in Automated Systems and Robotics is highly preferred
WILLING TO LOOK AT ENTRY-LEVEL CANDIDATES WITH THEIR AUTOMATION DEGREE
- 2 years' experience with supporting Electrical/Controls Engineering in electrical documentation and electrical schematic generation
- 2 years' experience with panel wiring and interpreting electrical schematics
- 2 years' experience with mechanical assembly of custom automated equipment
- 1 years' experience troubleshooting PLC's is nice to have
- Strong mechanical aptitude is required
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 20% in the future
- Must bring their own Tools
