Description:
Actalent is currently hiring a Packaging Design Engineer in Harleysville, PA! The candidate will design and develop sterile medical device packaging systems from concept to finished product following all Design Control standards, guidelines and procedures. Responsible for assisting in the completion of drawings, label files, specifications, manufacturing routers, specification change requests and other documentation as necessary for product/process development and improvement. Responsible for development, validation and transfer of manufacturing processes to production.
MUST HAVE
• Packaging experience. Ideally in the medical device field with some familiarity with the ISO 11607 Standard but any packaging experience would be considered.
• Experience with designing sterile barrier systems but any packaging design experience would be considered.
• Familiarity or experience with documentation requirements regarding medical device packaging would be ideal but ability to draft reports and technical documentation is all that would be required

Additional Responsibilities
• Assist in the implementation of new packaging systems into Production/Manufacturing.
• Assist in the design and implementation of tooling fixtures for inspection and assembly of sterile barrier packaging.
• Maintain and follow proper compliance and quality systems requirements.
• Assist in developing and implementing quality policies and procedures relating to packaging.
• Gather, track and analyze data, i.e. yield/outputs/efficiencies.
• Assist Production/Manufacturing Engineers to resolve production issues as required.
• Assist in root cause analysis for return product failures.
• Assist in the development of Bills of Materials and Routers for product lines.
• Accountable for following established design control procedures and systems for design and development projects.
• Write and execute packaging validation testing protocols.
• Assist in performing feasibility studies/ROI calculations on projects to provide support for new capital improvement projects.
