What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Specialist position at Actalent?
Description:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for preparation of payroll and maintenance of payroll records for all employees
Duties and responsibilities:
- Manage workflows to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Perform daily payroll department operations
- Document and update payroll procedures
- Process tax status, direct deposit and miscellaneous changes
- Review and analyze payroll hours/reports for accuracy and make necessary corrections
- Perform periodic internal audits of payments
- Maintain current knowledge of IRS regulations
- Work with HRIS and Support Center to troubleshoot/resolve issues
- Act as front line Support for HR by performing customer service functions such as answering employee requests and questions
Requirements:
- Working knowledge for ERP systems (i.e. PeopleSoft)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Windows Applications
A minimum of three (3) years' of relevant professional experience in the following area(s):
- Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits
