What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmaceutical Instrumentation Specialist position at Actalent?
Description:
Perform or assist with all tasks including procurement, sop, and qualification of instruments in accordance to all applicable SOP to ensure adherence to cGMP in support of the Quality Control laboratory operation. Assist with instrument maintenance and schedule outside contractor where necessary. Assist with investigation due to anomalous or OOC result. Responsibility also includes other miscellaneous task in support of laboratory operation.
• Preparation of master Preventive Maintenance / Calibration schedule.
• Update Preventive Maintenance / Calibration list
• Assist with initiation of change control
• Assist with SOP revision
• Adhere to cGMP and safety procedures.
• Logging instrument repair requests and placing “out of service tag” on instrument due for calibration, instrument requiring a repair or on a new instrument.
• Scheduling visit for outside contractors for preventive maintenance or repair.
• Escort vendors on site service.
• Prepare procurement for outside vendor and ship instruments or standards for outside service.
• Release instrument and ensure adequate labeling/proper documentation.
• Notify the management for any observations or deviations.
• Verify the expiry date of chemicals, reagents, primary calibrators.
• Assist with metrologist for minor repair.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in the sciences
• 5 years of experience as a chemist
• Experience with preventative maintenance internal calibration – lab equipment
• Externally deal with vendors repair all in house – lab equipment
