What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist position at Actalent?
Actalent is hiring a Phlebotomist for a patient service center in Norristown!
Description:
1) Performs venipunctures. Collects other specimens and explains the proper collection procedures for specimens provided by the patient. Clarifies orders and pre-analytical test requirements when appropriate.
2) Makes accurate, initial assessment of specimen suitability according to criteria outlined in the Laboratory Handbook and department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
3) Processes stores and transports specimens according to the Laboratory Handbook and SOP’s.
4) Responds to customer inquiries for information regarding specimen requirements and testing schedules.
5) Maintains up-to-date knowledge of changes in specimen requirements and collection devices.

Qualifications:
-6 months of Industry Experience doing phlebotomy (cannot come right from school)
-Experience with stick draws, not just butterfly.
-Strong attention to detail. (labeling of samples)
Hours:
7am-3:30pm
