National Engineering consulting firm specializing in power generation, oil & gas and waste management industries is seeking a Piping Designer to join their Southern California Team. This position is 100% remote. The successful candidate will play a crucial role on the engineering team, responsible for designing and creating accurate piping layouts for various industrial projects.
Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed piping design specifications, considering project requirements, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Utilize Cadworx software to create 2D and 3D models of piping systems.
- Utilize the equipment specification sheets supplied by the PE and vendors to model the equipment in 3D
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project objectives and deliver designs that meet client expectations.
- Conduct thorough technical reviews of piping designs to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Attend project meetings to provide expertise on technical aspects related to piping design.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers on piping design techniques and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Piping Designer in the petrochemical industry or related field.
- Proficiency in using Cadworx software of piping systems is essential.
- In-depth knowledge of piping materials, components, fittings, valves, and equipment used in the petrochemical industry.
- Strong understanding of industry codes and standards such as ASME B31.3, API 570, ASME Section VIII Div.1.
- Familiarity with plant layout concepts and ability to coordinate with other disciplines (structural, mechanical, electrical) for integrated designs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
Additional Information:
- Compensation: $45 to $55/hr (Negotiable based upon experience)
