Description:
The Quality Assurance Lead Person is responsible for efficient operation of the department through coordination of work, ensuring compliance for all quality procedures and Standard Operating Procedures while providing employee training and direction and acting as a liaison between Plant Operations and Plant Food Safety / Quality Assurance.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Coordination of Required Work
• Completion of required quality checks to disposition previous days production Participate in Root Cause Investigation of Problem Batches
• Serve as an investigator for internal/external non-conformity events.
• Recommend corrective actions / preventive actions (CAPA) to reduce or eliminate reoccurrence of the failure mode.
• Complete effectiveness checks against previous CAPAs. Provide recommendations for continuous improvements. Document Control
• Assist the Quality Coordinator / Manager in the review/updates/creation of controlled documents. Auditing of SOP’s and Departmental Policies
• Ensure consistency of procedures across shifts
• Demonstrate an understanding of and adherence to Operating Design criteria Completion of On-Floor Process Audits
• Auditing on-floor processes against a standard audit template. Capture observations and make recommendations for improvement.
• Write or revise standard audit templates as necessary. Continuous Improvement
• Provide plans to drive efficiency and reduce cost
• Involvement in IEE Teams Provide Training and Direction for New and Current Employees
• Provide direction for other employees by maintaining good attendance and following and enforcing company policies and procedures
• Initiate training for department when changes occur to the process
• Using training checklist, ensure proper training of new hires - Includes working off-shifts to train as needed
• Addresses problems and concerns Maintain Effective Communication
• Communicate current department status and expectations to other shifts
• Communicate to other leads/departments as needs arise Responsibility and Adherence to all Safety Procedures
• Conduct monthly safety audits
• Complete weekly BBS sheet
• Ensure that safety rules are being adhered to by all employees
• Must be able to utilize the work order system, including follow up to ensure that items are being corrected. Ensure Proper Housekeeping
• Must ensure that housekeeping is being maintained especially during periods of downtime and at shift overlap.
• Ensure recognition of and adherence to 5S guidelines. Observe and Enforce all GMP’s, HACCP’s and Safety Rules and Regulations Perform Other Duties as Directed by Supervisor or other Management Team Member
